FAQs
Scottsdale Treeworks understands that tree services are a dangerous business to be in. After being in this business for some time, we come across many of the same questions, so it seems best to address these common questions on this page. Some of the most common questions are "How do you get so high in the tree without injuring yourself?" and "How do you take down a tree without damaging my property?".
When you scroll down, you will see a list of the most common questions we hear on the phone when customers call in or when we visit them in person for a site visit and a quote. Call Us Today at (480) 800-4731 |

How do you remove trees without damaging my property?

This is by far the most common question we receive, and rightfully so. It would be horrible to hire a tree service provider to end up having no place to live, because they caused the tree to fall in the wrong direction.
We prevent ourselves from damaging your property by having the wires and cables oriented, so as to make the tree fall in a certain direction. We have the cables and wires attached to the ground as well as to our trucks and cranes led by our ground crew, so as to make sure your property is not taken down with the tree. As we said before, it would be horrible if you ended up homeless because a tree service company caused a tree to fall on your house.

How do you get very high in trees without hurting yourself?

We only hire skilled arborists to climb our trees. Even though an arborist may have experience, we take each new hire through our training courses to learn the basics of climbing, roping, calling for help, and anything they may do before they lift one fit off the ground. Things seem easy until you are two hundred feet in the air. If you fall from that height without a safety helmet, you may end up in a hospital for your last few days of life. We much rather you be safe and go through safe practices instead of going at it on your own and end up in a wheelchair.

How Often Should I Prune My Own Trees

Pruning does not equal "good". Not all people know how to prune their trees, and even fewer people know when to prune their trees. Too much pruning increases the tree's chances of infection and surviving through stressful times. Insects may transmit infections to the exposed parts of the tree that came from pruning, leaving you with dead branches, which gives fewer nutrients to other parts of the tree, which causes the tree to be further weakened. Eventually, your tree may end up needing cabling and bracing because you decided to prune your own tree.
If you do decide to prune your own trees, it should not be more frequent than one year. Pruning is helpful in that it may provide a greater bounty for your harvest as more nutrients are diverted to healthier branches. Call Scottsdale Tree Service for best pruning practices. How do I know if my tree is infected?
You probably will not be able to tell if your tree is infected, because it is difficult for us to tell if a tree is infected just off one glance. Many plant diseases look similar to each other, so we would need a timeline of the spread and pattern of the infection before making a judgement call. In addition, previous treatments by other arborists may affect the course of infection. Therefore, it is important to stick with one arborist or tree service company throughout the course of your tree's health.
